Autumn Hayes is a writer, educator, life coach, and poet. Her work ranges from teaching tai chi to leading philosophy and English seminars to writing sci-fi pilgrimage poems, contemporary sonnets, movie reviews, pop-culture pieces, and choreopoems in Greek. Her love for movement, language experiments, and mashups comes from a lifetime of traveling between cultures and crossing borders. A former dancer and athlete, she has read, performed, and presented in Los Angeles, Australia, and various cities in Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Autumn grew up near Houston, bathed in the sounds of Vietnamese, Spanish, French, and seemingly every kind of English. (Plus humidity. That’s a language.) Over the years, she has taught reading, writing, qigong, math, public speaking, drama, and vocational welding in Los Angeles, Houston, and the Mississippi Delta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She holds an MFA in poetry from Texas State University. However, she began to write poems while still a teenager at the University of Southern California. When she takes a break from words, she usually has her feet on the road or her hands in some soil.
